Another double standard.
The Bush administration, the European Union, Russia and just about every
country in the world has decided that the Palestinians are entitled to an
independent state. While there is disagreement on the historical foundations
of such a claim (there never was a Palestinian state, and not even an autonomous
Palestinian province, under any of the various Islamic and non-Islamic
empires that ruled the Middle East), there is general agreement that the
Palestinians are a people of the world and deserve to have their own homeland.
While the Bush administration is pushing for this to happen, it has authorized
the bombing by Turkey of northern Iraq, where Kurdish separatists are hiding.
These separatists are fighting for the Kurds to have their own homeland.
Turkey's argument against any such claim is that there never was an
independent Kurdistan. But they forget to add that there never was an
independent Palestine either.
The USA sides with Turkey against the independence of the Kurds, but then sides
with the Arabs for the independence of the Palestinians.
Even more strikingly, the USA sides with Kosovo against Serbia: Kosovo too
deserves to be independent, according to the USA, even though there never
existed an independent Kosovo and Kosovo is the historical homeland of the
Serbian nation.
To make things even more puzzling for objective observers, the USA has long
accepted Morocco's claims over Western Sahara, a territory that Morocco annexed
in the 1970s. The Saharawis are still confined in refugee camps on the other
(Algerian) side of the border and probably will be for eternity.
Last but not least, the Lakota Sioux of the USA have declared independence
(see this article). Nobody took them seriously in the USA.
But if the Palestinians and the Kosovars are
entitled to their independent state, why not the Lakota Sioux?
What these episodes have in common is simple: Muslims are always right.
They are right when they claim that peoples should have homelands, and they
are right when they claim the opposite. Turkey and Morocco (both Muslim
countries) are right to
occupy the lands of other peoples. Israel (not Muslim) and Serbia (not Muslim)
are wrong to do the same. The Kurds and the Sahrawis (who are not really
Muslims) are wrong to desire independence. The Palestinians and the Kosovars
(who are really Muslims) are right to desire independent.
If you are confused, look at the religion and you'll see the logic: Muslims
always get what they want. There is no other logic to what the USA is doing.
Naive analysts like Noam Chomsky who point to the influence of the Jewish lobby
on USA foreign policy should spend a little more time analyzing the influence
of the Arab lobby on USA foreign policy.

Ethnic cleansing, Islamic style
In Turkey on april 18 someone killed three Christians who were guilty of printing bibles. They were executed Islamic style (their throats were slit after they
had been tied to a chair).
The news was hardly broadcasted beyond Istanbul in the Islamic world, just like previous murders of Christians by Muslim fundamentalists. (A Catholic priest was killed in february 2006 in Trabzon).
Imagine if someone in the West killed a Muslim because of the Quran: there
would be millions of Muslims marching in the streets from Morocco to Indonesia.
The right-wing parties in Western Europe immediately seized on the opportunity
to declare Turkey unfit to join the European Union.
One wonders why they pick on the Turkish government (which is actually doing
all it can to defend the secular lifestyle of Turkey) and not on media such
as Al Jazeera, that are the real culprits. It is the Islamic media that
encourage persection of non-Muslims in the "Islamic lands" (i.e. the lands
that Muslims stole from Christians, Jews, Hindus and Zoroastrians). It is
the Islamic media that uphold the principle that Mohammed was a prophet sent
by a god (and the only god, by the way), that the Quran must be obeyed to the
letter, that everything about Islam is sacred (and therefore everything
that is in conflict with Islam deserved to be destroyed).
And, most importantly, it is the Islamic media that use the double standard
of widely advertising any offense to Islam (such as the harmless cartoons
published by a small magazine in the small and remote country of Danish)
while downplaying or completely ignoring the crimes committed in the name
of Islam.
The Muslims who kill non-Muslims are simply obeyed a well-orchestrated
campaign by the Islamic media. Those media are de facto the "civilian" arm
of Islamic terrorism.
