First day:
Driving around in Las Vegas till 1 p.m. Then leaving for the Grand Canyon. Driving along Route 66, arriving Grand Canyon around 6 p.m.
Motel: Best Western
Second day:
Visiting the Grand Canyon the whole day:
- Grand Canyon Village Center
- Taking the bus to the East Rim, walking along East Rim
- Driving to the West Rim, watching Sunset
Motel: Anasazi Inn in Grey Mountain in direction to Flagstaff on the left side.
Third day:
- Wupatki National Monument ( old indian ruins), around 30 min.
- Sunset Crater ( no possibility of climbing up the crater)
- Petrified Forest, around 1.5 hours
- Painted Desert
- Driving to Cortez, around 4 hours
Motel: Best Western in Cortez
Fourth day :
- Mesa Verde ( ancient indian ruins in the rocks ), around half a day driving there from Cortez and seeing the main ruins. Should allow one full day.
- Driving to Monument Valley with a stop at Four Corners (Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico), around 3 hours. Park closes at 5 p.m., beautiful view of Monument Valley with late afternoon sun.
Motel: Holiday Inn in Kayenta
Fifth day:
- Driving through Monument Valley, around 2-3 hours ( best light for pictures probably afternoon)
- Driving to Bryce Canyon through Page, around 4-5 hours ( if enough time, driving the northern route with a stop at Arches National Park recommended, also a boat tour on Lake Powell )
Motel: Ruby’s Inn
Sixth day:
- Seeing Bryce Canyon main viewpoints in about 2 hours. Should allow more time to do some hikes.
- Driving to Zion Canyon, around 2 hours. Driving inside Zion Canyon, around 1 hour till the end. Going for a walk along a river, very picturesque, around 45 minutes.
- Driving to Las Vegas, around 4 hours
