Shizuka, Lisa, Virna drive from Vegas to the Grand Canyon Village (the "south rim") arriving friday evening around 9pm.
Campground for friday June 7: Mather South Rim (walking distance from the Grand Canyon Village). 1-800-365-2267. Confirmation number: 242-0059. Customer account number: 126-83-19. If arriving after 8pm, we MUST call 928 638-7851 to confirm late arrival.
Saturday June 8 day at the Grand Canyon:
  • Christian, Howdy and piero hike from the south rim to the north rim (40kms), leaving 5am from the campground and arriving probably at 6-7pm at the north rim.
  • Shizuka, Lisa and Virna hike, sightsee, drive and eventually reach the
  • Robin has her own schedule and also eventually drive to the north rim by car.
  • We all sleep at the north rim, either at the Lodge (Shizuka, Lisa, Virna, piero) or camp in the wilderness (Robin, Christian, Howdy).
Reservation for June 8 at the North Rim Lodge: western-style cabin with 2 queen-size beds for 4 people under my name. Xanterra Parks & Resorts (303-297-2757). Note: Dinner must be reserved in advance at 928 638-2611 x 160. There are no restaurants at the north rim. The nearest town is about one hour from the north rim.

I have made a reservation for four at 20:30 under my name. Christian has a reservatino for three at 20:45.

Sunday June 9 we enjoy the view from the North Rim. In the afternoon we drive back to Vegas.
