Mt Haeckel is one of the many summits in the Evolution Region.
The easiest way to reach it is from Lake Sabrina. See the Mt Darwin page for details.
Once at the Haeckel-Darwin pass, follow the crest south to the saddle.
From the saddle hike up the chute that crosses Haeckel's north face
diagonally.
