Cromagnon was one of the most original bands of 1960s' psychedelic music,
predating industrial music and noise.
(Translated by Chris Ford) Cromagnon were one of the most original groups of 1960's psychedelic music. Their music acted as a bridge between the eccentricities of the Fugs and the cacophonous experiments of industrial music. The group (Austin Grasmere and Brian Elliot) released one of the most radical, futuristic and frightening albums of the period, Orgasm (ESP, 1968). The songs Caledonia, Ritual Feast Of The Libido and Fantasy include wild orgies of tribal percussion, radio frequencies, bagpipes and crickets. |
