Orchestra Baobab was the most famous of the Senegalese combos that mixed Cuban music and African music. The orchestra was at the peak on Sibou Odia (1981), Pirate's Choice (1982), and would reform with equal dexterity for Specialist In All Styles (2002). However, the slow, languid style of the orchestra hardly related to the exuberance of the Senegalese youth. The mediocre Made in Dakar (2006) contains both new and old material.

African Classics (Sheer Sound, 2007) is an anthology.
