Todd Congelliere's F.Y.P. are punks from San Pedro, the port of Los Angeles,
who play a raw, sloppy, goofy, hyper-kinetic version of
Screeching Weasel's punk-pop.
Their discography started with
the six-song EP Made in USA (1991) and proceeded prolifically with
the album Finish Your Popcorn (, 1992) and the
11-song EP Extra Credit (Recess, 1994).
The album Dance My Dunce (Recess, 1995) packs 17 gems of naive dementia
and remains their masterpiece.
Toilet Kids Bread (Recess, 1996) and My Man Grumpy (Recess, 1997)
took a turn towards a more mature style.
Multi-instrumentalist Sean Cole runs the show on
Toys That Kill (Recess, 2000),
that features a few of their masterpieces:
Come Home Smelly,
Wherever The Creeps Go,
Don't Have Another One,
1000 Dead Cheerleaders,
Love's Been No Good To Me.
The band's career ended with
the eight-song mini-album Come Home Smelly (Theologian, 2000),
possibly their best offering ever, featuring the epic romps of
Pink Slipped and Knee High, the delirious
West Psalm Beach and Shirts and Skins, and their philosophical
testament, God Don't Give 2 Shits About Me, besides the title-track.
Incomplete Crap Vol. 1 (Recess, 1996) is a collection of rarities,
including the six-song EP Cooties,
Made in USA and Finish Your Popcorn.
Incomplete Crap Vol. 2 (Recess, 1999) is a 43-track anthology of
tracks from singles and compilations, and perhaps the best introduction
to their crazy and frantic world.
