Mortals are a Cincinnati (Ohio) band that was already playing garage-rock in 1989, when the genre's revival was still to come. Their no-frills approach makes Ritual Dimension Of Sound (Estrus, 1993) sound terribly retro`, but with the concept album Bulletproof (Estrus, 1994) the band tried to carve themselves a more intellectual niche while maintaing a high-octane profile (Psychlone, Zodiac).

Last Time Around (Estrus, 1996) is a collection of rarities.
