Black Market Music (Neurot, 2000) is
another disappointing and over-hyped album that shows no progress and no ideas.
The pounding Taste In Men (that recalls Pure Morning and steals
the riff from Pink Floyd's Let There Be More Light)
and Spite And Malice
(a hip-hop and new wave version of Pet Shop Boys) rely on over-production.
Taste In Men, Slave To The Wage and Special K are the hits.
Sleeping with Ghosts (Astralwerks, 2003) manages to disappoint even
the vastly reduced expectations. Between
uninspired rock'n'roll (The Bitter End and Plasticine)
and uninspired ballads (I'll Be Yours and Centrefolds),
the single This Picture is an implacable truth machine.
The albums finds a bit of verve only in the punk-pop numbers
(English Summer Rain, This Picture, the catchy Second Sight, and The Bitter End, perhaps the least worst of the batch).
Meds (2006) boasts a few songs that are lively than its predecessor
(Infra-Red, Space Monkey, Drag, Because I want You)
but too many duds, starting with
Broken Promise (that features R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe).

Le hit sono Taste In Men, Slave To The Wage e Special K.
Sleeping with Ghosts (Astralwerks, 2003) riesce nell’impresa di deludere le gia` ampiamente ridotte aspettative. Tra rock’n’roll banale (The Bitter End e Plasticine) e ballate prive di ispirazione (I'll Be Yours e Centrefolds), il singolo This Picture e` una spietata macchina della verita`. L’album si anima solo negli episodi pop-punk (English Summer Rain, This Picture, l’accattivante Second Sight e The Bitter End, forse il brano meno peggiore della raccolta).
