Darude (real name Ville Virtanen, his nickname is a contraction of "the rude")
is a Finnish disc jockey.
His secret was a sound that increased in frequency until it sounded like a
helicopter about to crash. Then a melody springs out of it and envelops
the frantic dance beat. It almost sounds like the surf-music of the 1960s,
with the organ replaced by electronic keyboards, and the melody played ten
times faster.
The result was an unlikely marriage of hard house and pop that propelled the
singles

Feel The Beat (16 Inch, november 2000) and
Out of Control (16 Inch, september 2001)
and the album
Before The Storm (16 Inch, september 2000) to the top of the British
charts.
