New York's duo Fischerspooner (Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner) spearheaded the electroclash generation with their throbbing Giorgio Moroder-esque single Emerge and the album #1 (Ministry of Sound, 2002), containing several more of those imitatios of the 1980s (Sweetness, Natural Disaster).

Odyssey (Capitol, 2005) simply added rock'n'roll to their recipe. Alas, the duo also upgraded themselves to serious songwriters. The combination turned out to be lethal. Just Let Go was no Emerge, and the other songs radiated simple nostalgia but little else.
