Mando Diao
concocted a fusion of Brit-pop and garage-rock on
on Bring `Em In (EMI, 2002) and Hurricane Bar (Mute, 2005).
Rather than the contemporary brand represented by the
Hives, they harked back to the
mod revival of the late 1970s
(Jam). Needless to say, their revival of a
revival of a revival, sounded a bit derivative, despite entertaining numbers
such as
God Knows, You Can't Steal My Love, If I Leave You (on
the second).
The group kept playing the same song on
Hurricane Bar (2005).
Ode To Ochrasy (2007) boasted at least two catchy songs:
Long Before Rock'n'roll and Tony Zoulias.
