Among the most original composers and arrangers of the post-jazz generation was bassist Saheb Sarbib (1944), whose music for big band included the 34-minute Concerto for Rahsaan, premiered on Live at the Public Theater (october 1980), and the four-movement suite Aisha, off Aisha (august 1981).
His albums as a leader include:
Evil Season (november 1974), with saxophone/clarinet, keyboards and
drums;
A Blessing For Joseph Dejean (may 1976), with alto, guitar and drums;
Encounters (1977), a duet with synth-man Jorge Lima Barreto;
It Couldn't Happen Without You (january 1984) with soprano, tenor, piano and drums.
