This is an addendum to the page on internships.

I am looking for a partner to do this. My website www.scaruffi.com has thousands of pages on all sorts of topics. I would like to produce ebooks out of those pages.

  1. The first book would be a guide to hiking in California, just to test the concept. I have organized them by season. You would have to collect the various descriptions from my website, select relevant pictures to go with the description (i have thousands of them), proof-edit the text, format it, etc. Then we epublish it on Amazon for the Kindle.
  2. The second project is a bit more ambitious. I have already published an ebook on "A Brief History of Knowledge". That was the reader of a class that i used to teach at UC Berkeley. It has no pictures. The Powerpoint slides of that class were about 4,000. You would have to integrate the reader and the Powerpoint slides to produce an "illustrated" version of the Brief History of Knowledge. This would probably become a series of ebooks, not just one book.
  3. Finally i have 60,000 pictures of 134 countries of the world, including all the main monuments you can name except for Iraq and a few other places, ranging from ancient monuments to modern architecture and including lots of natural environments. You would have to assemble a purely illustrated guide to traveling around the world by selecting the best pictures and organizing them geographically and historically. The geographical organization will be driven by maps. The historical organization will be driven by my historical timelines (also available on my website). "The world: an illustrated beginner's guide"

  3. Last but not least, 50% of the profits will be yours for a few years (depending on how much work your ebook entails)
  4. And of course you'll get credit for the ebook in the ebook itself (not as a coauthor but as the compiler)
