Tom Geist first graduated from the Ohio State University in 2010 with a degree in marketing, while also pursuing his own interests in Art and Music through the University's offered classes, and through private instruction. After holding positions in store management, automotive sales, international distribution, internet marketing, and radio station promotion, he returned to Ohio State to obtain a degree in Psychology in 2013. In his spare time he composes/performs music for 2 local bands as well as his own experimental project, and sparingly writes his own music reviews and poetry.

He is a regular contributor and editor to the music section, having proof-edited many bios, researched and created the stubs for many new ones and worked on other music-related chores.

In 2011 he launched a new service on the website: the yearly playlist of best songs.
