John Lee Hooker, who relocated from Mississippi (where is was born in 1917) to Detroit in 1942, created an exuberant and anarchic synthesis of boogie woogie and talking blues, such as in Boogie Chillen (september 1948), Crawling King Snake Blues (same session), I'm In The Mood (august 1951), Trouble Blues (march 1956), Dimples (same session), Boom Boom (december 1961). Technically, he was one of the least sophisticated performers, so casual to sound shabby and uncertain when he was, in fact, all mood and feeling.
Hooker died in 2001.
