(Translated by Ornella C. Grannis)

The Tremeloes were part of the first generation of the Merseybeat. They formed and obtained a recording contract before the Beatles, in 1962. Their first hit was Do You Love Me (1963), a cover of the classic by the Contours. It took them years to make the international charts. They did it with Here Comes My Baby (1967), a party song which they sang informally, aided by whistling and clapping, a continuation of sorts, of the amateurish Beach Boys' Barbara Ann.
