Japanese musician and (male) singer Harumi recorded the
double-LP Harumi (Verve, 1968 - Klimt, 2011), arranged by Western
musicians (notably producer Tom Wilson) but using Japanese instruments next to
organ, vibraphone, guitar, bass and drums.
It featured the 13-minute sitar-driven spoken-word rant "Twice Told Tales of The Pomegranate Forest" and the 17-minute acid jam "Samurai Memories".
