Luther Vandross is a singer-songwriter and producer who wrote Fascination (1975) for David Bowie, and released collections of silken soul ballads: Never Too Much (1981), one of the most influential albums of 1980s soul, Forever For Always For Love (1982), Busy Body (1983), The Night I Fell in Love (1985), Give Me the Reason (1986), Any Love (1988).

Power of Love (1991), one of his most elaborate productions, crossed over into the pop charts, and was followed by collections of yawn-inspiring pop ballads: Never Let Me Go (1993), Your Secret Love (1997), etc.

Vandross died in 2005 at the age of 54.
