Led by madman Patrick Mata,
Kommunity Fk was a staple of Los Angeles' horror punk-rock scene of the
early 1980s. The band bloomed after bassist Kevin Kitner and keyboardist
Margrete Arana joined in 1983.
The Voice And The Vision (Independent Project, 1983 - Cleopatra, 1994),
heavily influenced by Joy Division and Christian Death (We Will Not Fall )
and
Close One Sad Eye (Independent Project, 1985 - Cleopatra, 1993), with
the poppier Something Inside Me Has Died,
were their classic albums.
After a brief season in England, Mata reformed the group
with Kevin Kipnis on bass but then dissolved the band and
started Sativa LuvBox, that recorded
No Sleep For The Evil (Splatco, 1989).
After dissolving Sativa LuvBox, Mata reformed Kommunity Fk with Johnny Indovina
of Human Drama on bass.
