Ditch Croaker are a noise-rock trio (Tim Newman on vocals and guitar, Tim Floyd on bass, vocals and keyboards, Tim Barnes on drums, vocal and percussion) that formed in 1992 in Hoboken (New Jersey). They debuted with the EP Chimpfactor (Fine Corinthian, 1995), containing their classic Monkey Wild, and proceeded to establish themselves among disciples of Sonic Youth with the album Secrets Of The Mule (Reprise, 1996), whose songs scientifically demolish cute melodies. The mini-album Shortwave (Ditch Croaker, 1997) and Tranquil Waters (Vital Cog, 1999), on the other hand, sound too derivative of Sebadoh and Guided By Voices.
