Ditch Croaker are a noise-rock trio (Tim Newman on vocals and guitar, Tim Floyd on bass, vocals and keyboards, Tim Barnes on drums, vocal and percussion) that formed in 1992 in Hoboken (New Jersey).
They debuted with the EP Chimpfactor (Fine Corinthian, 1995),
containing their classic Monkey Wild,
and proceeded to establish themselves among disciples of
Sonic Youth with the album
Secrets Of The Mule (Reprise, 1996), whose songs scientifically
demolish cute melodies.
The mini-album Shortwave (Ditch Croaker, 1997) and
Tranquil Waters (Vital Cog, 1999), on the other hand, sound too
derivative of Sebadoh and
Guided By Voices.
