Kittywinder were an all-girl band
(Christine Lee on guitar and vocals, Stephanie Giorgio on guitar and vocals,
Laura Cuozzo on bass and vocals and Michael Hart on drums) formed
in 1992 at the University of New Hampshire and then
relocated to New York.
The amelodic rant Wishing Well and the
two highlights of the EP Scream of the Weak (Zero Hour, 1995),
Turn Your Insides and Fooled, seem to offer a competitive
alternative to Breeders' skewed punk-pop, but
Livre Des Monstres (Zero Hour, 1996) tried a little too hard and,
while impressive songwriting put the band on the map, an overwrought execution
sent them back to the drawing room (Deep Sea, Secret).

Le Kittywinder sono un gruppo di sole ragazze (Christine Lee alla
