Rein Sanction were a power-trio from Jacksonville (Florida):
Mark Gentry (vocals and guitar),
Ian Chase (bass) and Brannon Gentry (drums).
Broc's Cabin (SubPop, 1991) introduced yet another imitation of
Dinosaur Jr's noise-pop, although its best
moments boasted a dense arrangement of guitar effects that surpassed the
master's own intensity. The result sounded
bleak and ominous like a cross between voodoo and noise-rock.
Mariposa (SubPop, 1992) was a depressed work that showcased Mascis' worst defects and few of his assetts.
