Peter Ciccone's Vacant Lot were hardcore punks who resurrected the spirit and the sound of early Ramones: catchy melodies at supersonic speed, cartoonish lyrics and madcap attitude. Because They Can (Shake, 1992) was worthy of the classics, a parade of rapid-fire pranks (Hard Hard Time, Good As Gone) that never let go. unfortunately, later albums Wrong (Shake, 1993) and Shake Well (Shake, 1995) were only vaguely reminiscent of that success and the band slowly dissolved.
