New York's
White Out
i.e. the duo of Lin Culbertson (electronics) and Tom Surgal (percussion),
concocted anarchic pieces inspired by free-jazz improvisation
that sounded like Sun Ra's cosmic jams and psychedelic freak-outs
on Red Shift (Ecstatic Peace, 1998), featuring
David Nuss of the No-Neck Blues Band.
They also recorded
two albums with Jim O'Rourke:
Drunken Little Mass (Ecstatic Peace, 2000) and
China Is Near (All Tomorrow Parties, 2005).
The double-disc Senso (Ecstatic Peace, 2009) documents a live collaboration with Jim O'Rourke and Thurston Moore of december 2004.
It contains two 40-minute pieces:
Fear Of Fear (Of Fear) and
The Eyes The Mouth.
