Scottish high-profile producer Craig Armstrong is mainly active as a composer
of movie soundtracks:
Baz Luhrmann's Romeo And Juliet (1998),
Jake Scott's Plunkett And Macleane (1999),
Roger Kumble's Cruel Intentions (1999),
Mike Barker's Best Laid Plans (1999),
Phillip Noyce's Bone Collector (1999),
Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge (2001),
Film Works (Family Recordings, 2005) collects music composed
for film soundtracks.
But he also released two albums of classy and melodramatic ballads,
interpreted by an assortment of pop stars, that straddle the border between
trip-hop and easy-listening:
The Space Between Us (Melankolic, 1998)
and
As If to Nothing (Astralwerks, 2002).
