Benge is the project of British synthman Ben Edwards. His albums, such as
Electro-Orgoustic Music (1995),
Polyrhythmic Electronica (1997) and
Experimental Non-Vocal Electronic Pop (1999),
display his passion for the instrument.
The music is inspired by all sorts of occasions. The music for
Meme Tunes (2002) was generated by simulating the process of cultural evolution (or "memetics").
Twenty Systems (Expanding, 2008)
used twenty different synthesizers, from early analog models to contemporary
digital models, to compose twenty electronic vignettes that basically
document the evolution of the medium.
