DJ Dara (Gilfoyle) moved to the US from Ireland in 1994 (at the age of 25)
and began touring the country to promote drum'n'bass.
This way, he became one of the apostles of the genre
on the other side of the Atlantic.
In between tours, Dara founded the seminal store "Breakbeat Science" in New York
City.
His early singles, Schizophrenia and Smoke, established his
brutal, polyrhythmic "techstep" style.
The albums
Rinsimus Maximus (Smile, 1997) and
Halfway Home (Sm-e Communications, 1999)
are ferious, cerebral journeys through dark, ominous, post-industrial
landscapes.
Renegade Continuum (Rawkus, 1999),
Full Circle (Moonshine, 1999),
From Here To There (Moonshine, 2000),
Future Perfect (Moonshine, 2001) are mixed compilations.
