Fluke (vocalist Jon Fugler, Mike Bryant and Mike Tournier) rode on the British music scene in the late 1980s, although for a while nobody noticed. The single Thumper (1989) and the mini-album The Techno Rose of Blighty (Creation, 1991) did little to change the world. But Philly, the single out of the album, boasted limping synth basslines and soft drums that would become the trio's trademark sounds (plus a cute sample of Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi). The album also included Cool Hand Flute and Joni.

The first hit came with Bubble (Circa, 1993), a classic of trance dance. The sudden popularity helped the album Six Wheels On My Wagon (Virgin, 1993), that spawned the singles Groovy Feeling, Slid and Electric Guitar (possibly their masterpiece, and one of funk's masterpieces).

Bullet and Tosh are the highlights of Oto (Circa, 1995), that also spawned an almost gothic Squirt as a single. It was different from Six Wheels, replete with classy, slower, spacey tracks (Setback). It was not a fully successful album, but then Fluke's fame rests on their singles anyway.

The catchy Atom Bomb (1996), written as a track for the a Sony Playstation game, was another winner. Then Fluke resorted to big beats in a way that was unusual for them but at least Absurd (1997) was a successful techno locomotive.

Risotto (Astralwerks, 1997) is a remix album that doesn't do justice to their classics.
