Chris DeLuca and Michael Fakesch, known collectively as Funkstorung (previously
Musik Aus Strom), hail from
Munchen (Germany) and came to prominence with
the album of remixes Additional Productions (K7, 1999), where they
reinvented other celebrities' hits.
Their post-dance style, somewhere between
Oval and Autechre,
built of intricate beats, dislocated clicks and arcane melodies,
permeates Appetite Fur Disctruction (K7, 2000). The duo's
atonal techno pieces
(including the title-track, Think and Red Shirt White Shoes)
are delivered by guest vocalists and seem to hark back to the early ages of
rap.
Michael Fakesch's solo
Marion (Musik Aus Strom, 2000) is a more restrained work that
focuses on the rhythmic aspect
Funkstorung's Viceversa (K7, 2003) and Appendix (2006) were terrible remix albums.
Disconnected (K7, 2004) was their friendliest album, both in terms of
song structure and in terms of instrumental sound.
The duo split in 2006.
Chris de Luca also recorded under the moniker CLP the hip-hop album
Supercontinental (Shitkatapult, 2008).

Chris DeLuca e
battiti sconnessi e melodie arcane, permea Appetite
Fur Disctruction (K7, 2000). I pezzi techno-atonali del duo (la
