In The Woods, yet another heavy-metal band from Norway, were formed by
vocalist Jan "Ovl-Svithjod" Transeth
and guitarists Kristian Botteri and Christoffer Botteri.
Heart of the Ages (1995) introduced a sort of
progressive-rock version of doom metal.
Female vocalist Synne "Soprana" Diana joined the ranks for the better
arranged Omnio (1997), five suites which refined their fusion of progressive-rock, acid-rock, pagan folk, ambient/electronic music and doom-metal.
Line-up changes determined the stylistic change of Strange in Stereo (1999), an over-produced work that diluted the intuitions of the previous album.

Heart of the Ages del 1995 introdusse una sorta di versione prog rock del doom metal.
La cantante Synne "Soprana" Diana si un alla schiera per il miglior arrangiamento di Omnio del 1997,che contiene 5 suites che ridefinirono la loro fusione di progressive-rock, acid-rock, pagan folk, ambient/electronic e doom metal.
Il cambio nella formazione determin il cambio stilistico sull'album Strange in Stereo del 1999, un lavoro sopra prodotto che dilu le intuizione dell'album precedente.
