Ordo Equilibrio is the project of Swedish multi-instrumentalist
Tomas Pettersson. Formed in 1993, Ordo Equilibrio
Reaping The Fallen (Cold Meat Industry, 1995) is a classic of
gothic, icy, desolate electronica, although the terrifying atmosphere is
occasionally lit by medieval-sounding acoustic ballads (sung by the only
other member, Chelsea Krook).

inspired by Death In June.

Nordik Battle Signs Algiz / Konvergece of Life and Death (Cold Meat Industry, 1999)
announced the end of a phase and the beginning of a new one:
Chelsea Krook left the project
and was replaced by Rosemary Larsen, and the name of the project changed in
Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio.
The sound slowly evolved towards apocalyptic folk on
Make Love And War: The Wedlock of Roses (Cold Meat Industry, 2000),
Make Love And War: The Wedlock of Equilibrium (Cold Meat Industry, 2001)
and Cocktails Carnage And Pornography (Cold Meat Industry, 2003).
However, Apocalips (2006) marked an austere and almost neoclassical
maturity. The only problem with Tomas Pettersson's music is that it is a
continuous dejavu of past gothic, industrial and folk genres.

Ordo Equitum Solis (un duo di chitarra e
voce), crea solenni e malinconiche ballate folk che rievocano musica medievale,
canzoni da menestrelli e liturgia gregoriana. Inevitabilmente Solstitii Temporis Sensus (Musica
Maxima Magnetica, 1990) ed Animi Aegritudo
(1991) suonano derivativi di Sol Invictus e Dead Can Dance.
L'EP OE
(1993) ed il live Paraskenia (1994)
semplicemente riciclano le stesse idee, ma Hecates
(1995) e Planetes (1999) mostrano
una crescente maestrìa nel produrre il suono delle loro “canzoni” acustiche.
Seguendo i passi dell'EP Signs (Sinope, 1999) e l'antologia in
due cd Octo (1999), nel nuovo studio
album, Metamorphosis (2000),
sperimentano con una formazione più variegata.
