RST was the solo project of New Zealand's guitarist Andrew Moon who, inspired by Skullflower and Sunn O))), experimented with overdubbing and manipulating his electric guitar into hostile soundscapes of heavy drones on Event Horizon (Imperial, 1995).

R136a (Ecstatic Peace, 1998) collects various home experiments from 1995 and 1996.

His art of dense abrasive dark drones shone on Warm Planes (Corpus Hermeticum, 2000) and especially the three hyper-diluted colossal suites of the triple-disc Other Machines (Celebrate Psi Phenomenon, 2007).

A parenthesis in his evolution was represented by the gentle and ambient Axes (Last Visible Dog, 2007).

After The Sunset Limited (Utech, 2010), the influence of doom-metal was evident again on the heavy and loud Tomorrow's Void (Utech, 2008).
