Ennesima effimera "next big thing" del Brit-pop, gli Shed Seven di Rick Witter
vennero a galla con il singolo Dolphin.
Change Giver (Polydor, 1995)
e` in effetti un summa del pop britannico degli anni '90
(e del suo certosino epigonismo). Gli Shed Seven
prendono lo spunto dagli Smiths (Head And Hands, Ocean Pie)
ma poi cavalcano verso un sound piu` robusto e atmosferico
(Casino Girl, Dirty SOul).
Con A Maximum High (Polydor, 1996) si avvicinano invece al piu` remunerativo pop degli Oasis. (Getting Better). She Left Me On Friday e The Heroes sono i singoli che precedono Let It Ride (Polydor, 1998), sul quale il gruppo compie non una ma tre o quattro metamorfosi (Chasing Rainbow e` psichedelica, Let It Ride e` Rolling Stones, etc) anche se alla fine prevale ancora una volta l'imitazione degli Oasis (Stand Up And Be Counted). Truth Be Told (Artful, 2001), with a new guitarist and a keyboardist, does not improve over the derivative standards of the previous albums.
