San Francisco's punk-rockers Ceremony, fronted by Ross Farrar,
debuted in the style of early California hardcore on the
EP Ruined (2005), containing seven brutal rants spanning eight minutes,
and on the mini-album
Violence Violence (2006), a 13-song collection lasting 13 minutes.
The fury began to subside on Still Nothing Moves You (2008).
They calmed down on Rohnert Park (2010) and embraced an
old-fashioned brand of garage-rock on
Zoo (2012), notably
Hysteria and World Blue,,
with the slightly more adventurous Repeating the Circle leaving hope
for a less predictable future.
