Las Vegas'
Killers, fronted by
vocalist and keyboardist Brandon Flowers,
harked back to synth-pop of the 1980s with the singles
Mr. Brightside (2003) and
Somebody Told Me (2004).
The mediocre Hut Fuss (2004) did not do justice to those sprightly tunes.
The populist and pretentious Sam's Town (2006) pivoted around
the singles When You Were Young and Read My Mind.
Sawdust (2007) collects b-sides and remixes.
Day & Age (2008) didn't have the hits but it was finally a consistent
and eclectic album. It is telling, however, that the best song was still one
in the old synth-pop style, Human.

I Killers, appartenenti alla cosiddetta corrente glam-rock,
sono un gruppo di Las Vegas, il cui front man è Brandon Flowers, voce e
tastierista.
I singoli Mr. Brightside (2003) e Somebody Told Me (2004)
rievocano per certi versi l'era synth-pop degli anni '80. Tuttavia Hot Fuss
(2004) risulta essere un album mediocre, non capace di far riemergere gli
stessi suoni vivaci.
Sam's Town (2006) si dimostra un album pretenzioso e
alquanto commerciale, incentrato sui singoli When You Were Young e Read My
Mind.
Sawdust (2007) è solo una collezione di b-sides e remix.
Day and Age (2008) non ha avuto grandi hit di facile
successo, ma finalmente in questo album è possibile apprezzare un certo
ecletticismo e consistenza. Del resto si ritorna allo stesso concetto di prima,
in quanto Human, la migliore canzone, rammenta ancora una volta quel vecchio
stile synth-pop
