Kings Of Convenience is a voice and guitar duo from Norway that draws
inspiration from Simon And Garfunkel's tender odes.
Kings Of Convenience (Kindercone, 2000) is a collection of gentle
folk songs like Toxic Girl and Surprise Ice. No revolution,
no evolution, just emulation.
Quiet Is The New Loud (Source, 2001), that shares six songs with the
debut and features the first shy piano, strings and drums, highlights what
is not intriguing about their music: a lack of development.
Versus (Virgin, 2001) is an album of remixes and unreleased tracks.
Riot on an Empty Street (Source, 2004) is neither intellectually
stimulating nor radio-friendly. Its songs seem to be mostly amateurish
attempts at writing songs, despite the catchy I'd Rather Dance with You.
They got rid of the drums on Declaration Of Dependence (2009),
a suave work whose songs lacked identity but created a holistic
experience.
