Klaxon Gueule were a Montreal-based trio
(Miriodor's
guitarist Bernard Falaise, Bruire's drummer Michel Cote,
bassist Alexandre St-Onge)
who debuted with the free-jazz improvisations of the double-disc
Bavards (1997), including a whole disc of quartets with
saxophonist Christopher Cauley, but then shifted towards the electronic noise
avantgarde with
three collections of brief surreal free-jazz improvisations for electroacoustic chamber ensemble:
Muets (1999),
Grain (2002) and
Chicken (2004).
St-Onge has released several solo albums of abstract electronic music:
Image/ Negation (Alien8, 1999),
Une Machoire Et Deux Trous (Namskeio, 1999) and
Kasi Naigo (Squint Fucker Press, 2001).
Cote released
63 Apparitions (&records, 2004) and
Flat Fourgonnette (Ambiances Magnetiques, 2005).
Bernard Falaise collaborated with veteran avantgarde turntablist Martin Tetreault on Des Gestes Defaits (&records, 2002).
Foodsoon,
the Montreal-based trio of
Klaxon Gueule's
guitarist
Bernard Falaise, drummer Alexander MacSween and keyboardist Fabrizio Gilardino,
debuted with the free-form noisescapes of Some Love (2005).
Gilardino's tape decks often dominate the proceedings.
However the music is too fragmented to exhibit a personality, running the gamut
from industrial to progressive to concrete to punk-rock.
Klaxon Gueule's Pour En Finir (AM, 2014)
The triple-disc box-set Ceci N'est Pas (Sono Sordo, 2016) collects
unreleased material of 1998-2014.
They returned with
Entièrement Unanimes (july 2018 - Ambiances Magnétiques, 2021).
