The heavy-metal band
Burn The Priest, based in Virginia,
released only one studio album, Burn The Priest (Legion, 1998).
After changing their name to Lamb of God, they released albums in a conventional
a sort of commercial version of Pantera's southern-metal:
New American Gospel (Metal Blade, 2000),
As The Palaces Burn (Prosthetic, 2003),
Ashes Of The Wake (Epic, 2004),
Sacrament (Epic, 2006), and Wrath (Epic, 2009), all the way down
to the terrible Resolution (2011).
After the relatively
melodic and clean VII Sturm und Drang (2015),
they paid tribute to punk-rock on the cover album
Legion XX, credited to Burn the Priest.
They do feature one of the great bassists of the genre, John Campbell.
