Michael Mayer was the original philosopher of the austere minimal techno school.
He founded the Kompakt label and released a few demonstrative tracks, but his
first album only appeared when the vogue had already swept the globe:
Touch (Kompakt, 2004). And it was a modest effort (and much more
"techno" than "minimal" by the standards of his own school).
Mantasy (2012) is an uninspired collection architected around the jovial
Mantasy.
