Spanish jazz-rock ensemble Planeta Imaginario
(saxophones, trumpet, keyboards, trombone, guitar, bass and drums) debuted
with Que Me Dices (2004). Their second album
Biomasa (Cuneiform, 2008) indulged in
Canterbury rock a` la Soft Machine
but with a "lighter" touch that manifests itself via melodic themes, rock-style
guitar workouts, atmospheric keyboards and funky rhythms.
The problem is that it rarely takes chances. Too often it sounds dejavu.
