Florida's Poison The Well
(built around the nucleus of vocalist Jeffrey Moreira,
guitarist Ryan Primack and drummer Chris Hornbrook)
debuted with
the five-song EP Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder (Goodlife, 1998) and
the album The Opposite Of December (Trustkill, 2000).
Tear From The Red (Trustkill, 2002), containing Turn Down Elliot,
ventured beyond metalcore, into the remote lands of
emo-pop, shoegaze-rock, and death-metal.
You Come Before You (Atlantic, 2003) added more melodic parts
and turned them into stars of the hybrid they had created.
Versions (2007) simply tried to capitalize on a sound that was becoming
more and more popular.
