Silverstein, fronted by Shane Told, represented screamo-pop in Ontario.
When Broken Is Easily Fixed (Victory, 2003)
became a best-seller due to catchy refrains and driving guitar riffs (the
occasional "screams" being just flourishes that did not truly impact the flow
of the song).
Denser arrangements and poppier tunes made Discovering the Waterfront (Victory, 2005) an easier listening experience (Smile in Your Sleep).
The music on Arrivals and Departures (2007) and Rescue (2011)
was simply diligent old-fashioned power-pop, some of the best of its age,
but hardly different from many songs of the previous 30 years.
