Sutekh, the alias of Seth Horvitz (who graduated from Mills College in 2010),
was a dj and producer of electronic dance music in the Bay Area.
After the mostly ambient Periods Make Sense (Mille Plateaux, 2000),
Sutekh created one of the most innovative works of the new decade in the field
of dance music, Fell (Orthlong Musork, 2002), a laptop-based excursion
into free-form glitch/techno music. Mostly improvised live, the tracks
flow like jazz solos.
Sutekh was housemate with Safety Scissors (Matthew Curry) in Oakland and formed with them and Kit Clayton the project Pigeon Funk that debuted with Proptronix Presents (2004).
Deadpan Escapement: Reconstructed was a collaboration with
Shawn "Twerk" Hatfield.
Incest (Force-Inc) is a live mix album.
Born Again (Leaf, 2005) is an anthology of remixes (1999-2005).
