Japanese improvising guitarist Kazuhisa Uchihashi (1959), a member since 1988 of
First Edition and since 1990 of Altered States (both formed by drummer Yasuhiro Yoshigaki and the latter documented on several albums since the 1992 self-titled debut),
and of
Ground Zero between 1994 and 1997,
has recorded the albums of solo guitar improvisations
Guitar Solo (february 1994 - Zenbei, 1994),
Phosphorescence (december 1996 - Zenbei, 1997) and Crazy Bubbles (may 1998 - Psycho, 2000).
Phantasmagoria, a six-piece unit with Takeshi Kojima on sampler, Ko Iwata on sax, Masafumi Ezaki on trumpet, has released Phantasmagoria (april 1999 - Innocent, 2000) and Cantata (may 2000 - Psycho, 2000).

Flect (may 2003) documents a solo live improvisation.
The double-CD Improvisations Vol.1 (september 2004 - Magaibutsu, 2005) and the triple-CD Improvisations Vol.2 (july 2006 - Magaibutsu, 2006) collect jams with Ruins' drummer Tatsuya Yoshida for a grand total of 360 minutes.
Combopiano, a trio with pianist and vocalist Takuma Watanabe and drummer Muneomi Senju, debuted with Combopiano (june 2010)
Kanon, the trio of Aki Takase (piano and inside piano), Kazuhisa Uchihashi (guitar, effects and daxophone) and Axel Dorner (trumpet), recorded Beauty Is The Thing (december 2007 - Doubt, 2011), containing A Break Into The Clouds.
Barisshee (may 2011) was a collaboration between guitarist Kazuhisa Uchihashi and drummer Tatsuya Yoshida.
Yuji
Takahashi (piano & laptop) and Kazuhisa Uchihashi (acoustic &
electric guitars) collaborated on
U9 (Innocent, 2012).

collaborations between guitarist Kazuhisa Uchihashi (here also on
daxophone), celloist Noid (aka Arnold Haberl) and Tamara Wilhelm on
electronics.
The double-disc Improvisations 5 (Magaibutsu, 2020) documents twenty-one improvisations recorded in several sessions (december 2012, february 2014, june 2014 and august 2017) by Uchihashi Kazuhisa (guitar and effects) and Tatsuya Yoshida (drums, voice and sample).
Black Holes Are Hard To Find (september 2021) documents a collaboration between Kazuhisa Uchihashi (electric guitar and electronics), Frank Paul Schubert (alto and soprano saxes) and Klaus Kugel (drums and gong).
